You may have noticed; Pixel has a new look. That’s not the only thing that’s new, and we think you’ll like the changes we’ve made.

The changes brought on by the widespread use of e-commerce during the pandemic will shape the fabric of consumer behaviour for years to come.

Since we founded Pixel back in 1996, we’ve grown from a two-person family business into an employer of 40 staff. As of 2022, £1.5bn worth of properties have been showcased through the various iterations of our platforms, with £500million of that coming just in the last year.

This year we launched a completely rewritten and revamped, next-generation version of our award-winning software, the Pixel HomeSelector and OptionsSelector – a digital Showhome and new-build property sales suite that will allow housebuilders to adapt to the expectations of today’s buyers and gives buyers the information they deserve about what is likely the biggest purchase of their lives so far.

The HomeSelector allows potential buyers to browse newbuild projects online. Buyers can walk virtually through each property with and without furnishings and different styles of interior design to suit their tastes, compare and shortlist multiple properties, walk around the streets of the development, and see a birds-eye perspectives of plots and floorplans. Critically, all it takes to reserve the property they want to buy, is a simple click. They never even have to leave their kitchen table.

We’ve also launched our OptionsSelector which helps new home buyer make confident choices, manage their budgets, and know what to expect. It does this by presenting each room of the house in an interactive, photorealistic way that potential buyers can then work with and change in real-time to see their different finishing options in situ.

The benefits of these systems near endless. Buyers get far more information about the actual house they would be buying than would be available through brochures and brochure-style websites. The purchase itself can move online, meaning you can reach a much wider net of potential customers, and unnecessary buyer journeys to and from site can be eliminated, reducing carbon emissions.

Most pertinently, around 20 properties can be created digitally for the cost of constructing just one physical show house on site, not including lighting and heating bills on top of that. And, last year, of the thousands of people who visited our virtual show house, 46% happened out of hours, when the physical show house would have been closed.

The data available from our virtual showhome and sales software analytics is also unique and deeply valuable for design, market ROI (return on investment), price setting and phase rollout.  The Pixel HomeSelector allows you to measure interest right down to the time spent just looking at a property.  You can see what spec suits your target market and thus reduce overspecification, and what potential buyers value most about your property to inform your marketing.
